Brothers and Sisters: DeColores!

We had a great discussion on Palanca at the SoL session in April.

The SoL has the mission of reviewing the doctrine of the movement and I had a sensing that many attendees had the idea that Palanca was being brought up due to some desire for change. I assure all the Leaders of our movement that we will continue to review our doctrine and if the consensus of the SoL is that something should be done, then we will act on it.

The Palanca bottom line is we are changing nothing except to place an emphasis on the real meaning of Palanca, which is prayer and sacrifice. K2G, Christina, and I attended the Regional Cursillo encounter in Atlanta in late April and we asked about Palanca, but there is no new guidance out, so we are driving on.

In May, Sister Anne Marie will give the doctrinal talk and the technique talk will be a brainstorming session on what new members of the 3 day teams need to know. I have a draft list and we will add and subtract from it. Intent is to have a veteran Cursillista take the new team members aside and, using the checklist we develop, give them an overview of team operations for the weekend.

Please pray for the women’s team that is in formation. At this writing in early May, we seem to have plenty of candidates, so we wish God’s graces on the team during their preparation.

Ultreya! Onward.
