Happy Easter!
May the grace and peace of our Lord be with each of you. I wanted to provide an update of the current Pre-Cursillo activities:
- Women’s #126 is scheduled for May 24-27, 2012 and currently there are 25 Candidates for the weekend. Please make sure that any woman you are sponsoring who wishes to attend the weekend in May submits her application as soon as possible to ensure a slot for the weekend.
- Men’s #127 is scheduled for September 13-16, 2012. Currently, there are seven applications on file for this weekend, and a minimum of 14 are needed on file by August 2.
- In regards to submitting applications, don’t forget that the practice of “rolling admissions” is done for each 3-Day weekend. “Rolling admissions” means that applications will be accepted at all times until a weekend’s 32 slots are filled, and then receipt of a signed application and sponsor form will determine order of precedence on a waiting list.
- Pre-Cursillo Briefings that included information about sponsoring candidates have been presented to numerous Ultreyas throughout the diocese. An electronic copy of this briefing is available as a reference for download on the Pre-Cursillo page.
- A revised candidate and sponsor application is currently being finalized, and will be distributed to Ultreya facilitators and posted to the website for use by the end of January. In the interim, please feel free to continue to use the current application when submitting candidates for the upcoming weekend(s). (Note: No application submission using the current form will be rejected for the SPRING weekends, but once the new application is available, please be aware that ONLY new applications will be accepted for the fall weekends).
- Two endeavors for 2012: 1) to re-establish the Palanca subcommittee so that each Ultreya is represented; and 2) there will be a Day of Reflection/pilgrimage held for all Cursillistas and their families. More information about those endeavors will be forthcoming in the near future.
- Finally, please continue to offer prayers and palanca for all those considering becoming part of the Cursillo movement here in the diocese as well as all current Cursillistas.
I am always striving to improve the work being done within the Precursillo, so please do not hesitate to email (semcsem@aol.com ) or call me (256) 603-0225, with any comments or concerns, or if I can assist you in any way.
Decolores!
