Organization
The Raleigh Catholic Diocese Cursillo Movement is comprised of English, Spanish and Vietnamese speaking community segments. As a US National Cursillo practice, all Vietnamese community segments are administered at the National level (see National Contacts at http://www.cursillo.org/affiliated.html). The Raleigh Diocesan Movement is led locally by a Secretariat which provides oversight and guidance to an Anglo School of Leaders and a Hispanic School of Leaders under By Laws adopted in November 2000. The Schools of Leaders (SoL) are responsible to accomplish the work of running the Movement in their respective community segments, and to work together to ensure that the Diocesan Movement operates as a unified Catholic Cursillo community. In addition to the ByLaws, the work of the Anglo SoL is accomplished in accordance with a set of Operating Practices that provide details on the work tasks of the Anglo SoL Sections, and are updated periodically to address changing community needs.

The Post Cursillo Section insures that every Cursillista within the Diocesan Movement has the opportunity to grow in his or her own 4th Day, and to be supported by the ongoing method of Group Reunion and Ultreya. This is accomplished by the opportunity for all individual Cursillistas to participate in the activities of the SoL, Diocesan Cursillo Area, a Group Reunion, and an Ultreya. To facilitate this, the Post Cursillo Section works to insure that an adequate number of Ultreyas exist within the Diocese, coordinates communications within the Community (including Palanca to other Movements), and strives to schedule, and ensure participation in, necessary local, regional, and national conferences.
School of Leaders
To further the support and growth,
some of us are called to come together to learn more about the method and fundamentals
of the movement and our faith. Much like fish swim in groups called “schools”,
so it is with Cursillo Leaders, coming together in groups to learn more and
share our faith journeys. Are you being called? Come share your journey &
as we learn how to become more effective apostles of Christ in our environments.

Cursillista Responsibilities
It is the 4th Day responsibility of all active Cursillistas to participate in Group Reunion, attend Ultreya (where available), and to continue their personal formation in understanding and supporting the Cursillo Movement. One of the avenues available to all Cursillistas to continue personal formation is to attend the Anglo SoL Formation Meetings held at 10:00 AM until 12:00 or 1:00 PM on the 2nd Saturday of each month (except December) at our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Newton Grove. These meetings consist of a Leaders Group Reunion time followed by a Catholic Doctrinal Presentation (usually by a member of clergy or religious), and a Cursillo Technique Presentation by a SoL member. Leaders Group Reunion (LGR) is where participants share Holiness, Formation and Evangelization activities in which they have specifically directed their attention to the development of the Cursillo Movement as opposed to those same type of activities for personal formation as shared in Friendship and Environmental Group Reunions (FGR and EGR). All Cursillistas may attend these meetings with no obligation to join. Attendance may be planned by reviewing the SoL Formation Meeting Plan of presentations and speakers for each meeting. Mass is served in the Rectory Chapel at 9:30 am before the meeting.
Directions to Our Lady Of Guadalupe Parish
I-40 to NC55 at Exit 341. NC55 East about 2 miles to the Newton Grove traffic circle. Exit circle onto NC13 exit (headed Northeast) after the NC55 exit going further East. NC13 about a half mile to the first street on left after a large field (you can see the church past the field in the distance). Left onto the street and it takes you directly to the church.
4th Day Involvement
Most Cursillistas think first of being on Team as THE way to serve the community. However, the Post Cursillo Section affords Cursillistas the most opportunity to serve the Cursillo community since it logically encompasses all the activities of the Movement after a weekend other than those specifically assigned to Pre Cursillo (including Sponsor and Candidate formation and weekend signup) and 3-Days (including weekend planning, scheduling, execution and Team selection and training). Following are just a few of the opportunities for involvement this Section offers, and any Cursillista interested in serving in one of these capacities should contact the Post Cursillo Section Chair.

Area and Ultreya Leadership
Deanery Leaders & Parish Contacts Needed: Cursillo is all about building community, and evangelizing our environments. Our need is to build Cursillo community within our Diocese so we can work closer together to meet the Diocesan Pastoral plan. We know there are group Reunion's, but know of few Ultreya's. Our hope is to be more aware of the needs of our community through Ultreya's within the Diocese. The committee will be glad to assist in starting these throughout the parish and provide needed support. There are 7 Deanery's in our Diocese. Currently, we only know of one that is holding any Ultreya's. Please consider a small part that carries much reward. Should your name be next to one of these?
The time commitment is smaller, and there will not be many meetings that you will need to attend. Please feel free to contact The 4th Day Chair. If you are able to serve in a greatly needed capacity, and feel the Spirit tugging at you - this may be for you. We would like to Identify a Leader (a contact person) for each Deanery to assist in coordination of at least 1 Ultreya per month in each Deanery and to follow up with candidates in Group Reunion and Ultreya. Also needed is a Leader (a contact person) for each Parish to help the Deanery Leader. The topic for the May School of Leaders session will deal with more information concerning Group Reunion & Ultreya. Please come! All are welcome!

Cursillo Conference Representatives
Cursillo Conference Representatives
Cursillo holds many local, Regional and National Cursillo conferences on an
every other year, annual and quarterly basis around the world and the United
States. Attendance at these events is extremely informative, and a very
fulfilling way to continue the individual Cursillista's formation. We always
need representatives who will take responsibility to identify, make
arrangements, attend and coordinate attendance for a group of local
Cursillistas, and report on the activities in our communications vehicles { CurNews and the Raleigh WWW site}.
Events are publicized in our communications vehicles as they become known.
Local Events Coordination
The Raleigh Diocese Catholic Cursillo tries to hold a Renewal Weekend for
experienced Cursillistas, and an Annual Celebration (formerly called an
Ultra Ultreya) on an annual basis. Cursillo Leaders Workshops (CLW)
presented by Regional staffs are also held as it is determined helpful for
the community. All of these events are held as total Movement activities
jointly between the Anglo and Hispanic community segments, and all require
considerable effort to schedule, plan and execute. The ideal task breakdown
is to have one Cursillista assigned for each of these events who would
coordinate the Anglo community segment involvement by working closely with
the Hispanic community segment Coordinator and recruiting Anglo Cursillistas
to serve in various work tasks. Events are publicized in our newsletter and on the WWW site
as they become known.
